Free, with a card check: A new account starts on Free: 30 messages a day, 1 reply at a time, no attachments. Sign-up asks for a card, which is not charged. One card gives one Free allowance.
Where it runs: Chat conversations are stored in the account database, in Australia. Each message is processed in the first live region your workspace allows.
What the chat stores: If you use the chat in your account, we store each conversation: its title, the messages you send, the replies, and the files you attach. For a PDF or a text file we also store the text read out of it. The chat deletes messages after 7 days, or the time you choose in Settings.
Share a conversation: If you share a conversation, we keep a record of the link. Anyone who has the link can read the conversation's title and the text of its messages without signing in, until you revoke the link or delete the conversation. Attached files are not shown.
On your phone: The chat fits a phone screen, and Add to Home Screen installs it as an app that opens on the chat.
More on a Sail plan: Sail, Sail Pro and Sail Max include the chat with no message cap, more than one reply at a time, and attachments of up to 10 MB a file and 5 a message. Plans start at $49 a month.

What does Free include?: 30 messages a day, 1 reply at a time, no attachments. A reply reads up to 32,000 tokens of the conversation, dropping the oldest messages first. Sign-up asks for a card, which is not charged.
What happens at the cap?: Messages open again at 00:00 UTC. Chat and Family have no message cap, from $20 a month.
Are conversations used to train a model?: No. Prompts and outputs of requests made with an API key are not stored. The chat in your account stores your conversations until you delete them, and deletes messages older than 7 days unless you choose another time under Keep chats in Settings. Neither is used to train a model.
How do I delete a conversation?: Deleting a conversation in the chat removes its messages, replies and share link at once. Its attached files are removed from storage by a job that runs every hour, and database backups hold a deleted conversation or message for up to 7 days. Privacy policy
